This one is a bit different from all the other traps on the used pages in that it’s brand new and has just been demonstrated a couple of times. Designed as a rabbit thrower, it’s been built to mount directly to an upright post such as an RSJ although it can also be mounted flat onto your own base as an ordinary bird throwing trap.
The pictures above and below show the trap set up with the rubber drive rail in the lower position to throw proper rabbit clays, a safety loop is fitted to remind the operator to keep away from the trap arm overswing. The rubber rail can be fitted in the top position to throw standard, midi and mini clays as flying rabbits or side on loopers.If the trap is fixed flat to throw birds, the rubber rail will be set at the top to throw clays exactly the same as any other trap. Your chosen base will need to be pointing upwards to give a bit of elevation, an adjustable elevating base plate would be ideal.The trap is made from 3mm steel box with 32mm greased bearing tube, high tensile shafts and a 12mm spring anchor point. Spring tension is adjustable and the curved teal clip is chosen over the standard item to hold the rabbit clay more securely before its launch. The trap can be held fast to your mounting point with the M12 nuts & bolts included.The combination of spring and single throwing arm means the trap will put out some good rabbits while still being fairly easy to load from behind, set up as a conventional trap, the trapper would be able to launch some challenging ‘On report’ pairs.
