Fareys are always a popular trap so here’s another one from a selection I have on my shelves. I have had many Fareys apart on my bench but this one could well be the best I have seen in a long while. The pictures were taken in bright sun so don’t really do the trap justice, it’s a proper Farey red rather than the orangey it looks here. I can’t understand why anyone would have robbed the trap of a couple of parts but where bits were missing I’ve added new. The link underneath has been replaced, as have the roller under the throwing arms and the rubber stops, apart from those the trap looks to be original with little use. Elevation is by the usual short bolt and locking nut at the back of the base, everything is locked in position by three bolts. My traps are all pictured ‘safe’ which usually means with the arms out in front, to use the trap for the first time the trapper will need to pull the arms anti-clockwise until they arms latch and stay at 9 o’ clock. Cocking is then by pulling the lever back then launching is by pushing the lever forward. It’s possible that I could find a base but it would be very heavy and probably expensive or collection only. Most of my customers prefer to buy Fareys as ‘head only’ and bolt them down to a their own base or sometimes a trailer or quad bike, for example. You would be welcome to ask if there’s anything else that I may be able to help with.SOLD
