After a workshop clean up I had a load of steel off-cuts and a bit of time so put the bits together and ended up with the base you see here.Fully welded, it’s a very strong and compact frame with a new bolted plywood seat. I’ve just tried it out on my range, from an odd idea and a welder I’m really pleased with how it has turned out.
